Berggasthof Wallbergmoosalm

Wallbergmoos Alm

The beautiful Wallbergmoosalm, located at an altitude of 1,117 meters at the end of the Wallberg Panorama Road, is a cozy mountain retreat to the south of Lake Tegernsee and a perfect destination for a day out from Munich! It’s ideal for a stopover during a hike up the Wallberg, but can also be reached by car.

The Alm

At the charming Wallbergmoosalm, guests will find some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Wallberg. You can enjoy a wonderful break on the sunny terrace (the tables by the house offer some shade) or in the cozy Stub’n. Guests appreciate the particularly friendly service. A small playground for children is available.

From the terrace, on the other side of the parking lot, you can see a sign that reads “To the viewing benches”. The small detour over the few stairs is definitely worth it to enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Tegernsee from one of the wooden loungers.

The Food

Visitors will find the usual alpine dishes such as Wiener sausages with bread or spinach dumplings with mountain cheese on the menu. The standard menu is small but perfectly supplemented with daily specials. We recommend the generous “Brotzeitbrettl” snack plate with cold cuts of meat and cheese. Make sure to save enough space to try the Kaiserschmarrn! The wheat beer comes from the Hopf wheat beer brewery in Miesbach.

Hiking

Passing the Wallbergmoosalm on the left, it takes a little more than 1 hour via the Wallberg mountain chapel to the mountain station of the Wallbergbahn Cale Car including the panorama restaurant and to the summit of the Wallberg. A forest road that starts at the car park leads via the Freisinger Hütte in the direction of Setzberg and on to the Risserkogel.

Sledging

In winter, one of the longest toboggan runs in Germany at 6.5 kilometers runs right past the Wallbergmoos Alm. The starting point is at the mountain station of the Wallbergbahn. Around the halfway point along the route you’ll pass the Wallbergmoos Alm, where you can stop for a warm drink. The toboggan run then continues along the route of the panorama road, which is closed to vehicles during winter.
