Parking at Lake Tegernsee requires nerves of steel, especially at weekends and during school holidays. Almost all car parks at Tegernsee are metered (pay-and-display). Unfortunately, there are no standard parking fees across the Tegernsee Tal area.

Before 8am and after 6pm you can park at most car parks around Tegernsee for free. Within this time the following rules for free parking apply: the first 2 hours in Gmund, the first hour in Tegernsee and the first half hour in Kreuth and Bad Wiessee are free.
