Hiking
Arriving at the mountain station of the Wallberg Cable Car, hikers can find several easy hikes suitable for those with even little experience who want to enjoy the stunning views.
Walk to the Wallberg Chapel (5 minutes, easy)
The walk to the Wallberg chapel, the 100-year-old landmark high above the Tegernsee valley, is suitable for pushchairs/strollers and leads along a wide path, passing a starting point for paragliders.

From the Mountain Station to Setzberg(1 hr, easy hike)
Passing the Wallberg-Kircherl and the starting points for the paragliders, descend to the Altes Wallberghaus mountain hotel. Pass the buidling on the right and continue zigzagging along a meadow path in the direction of Setzberg, which you will reach in around 20 minutes. From the Setzbergkreuz (1706 m) you can see the peaks of the neighboring Spitzingsee.
Wallberg summit from the mountain station (30 Minuten, easy-medium hike)
Bag yourself a proper summit experience and follow the path to the right of the Panorama Restaurant to the top of the Wallberg (1722 m).
Hiking the Wallberg from the valley station (2.5 hrs, easy hike)
From the valley station, follow the yellow signs to the Wallbergbahn mountain station (No. 618). After about 20 minutes, take the gravel path on the left (path no. 618) to the Wallbergsattel or turn left to get to the Wallbergbahn mountain station. The old Wallberghaus is already waiting at the Wallbergsattel, while the direct route to the mountain station leads to the panorama restaurant.
Wallberg Sledding Run
The 6.5 kilometer-long natural sledding run starting from the top of the Wallberg mountain station is one of Germany’s longest and most challenging. The ride down the moutain to the valley takes around half an hour. The steep descent and length of the run makes it unsuitable for small children.
Refreshments

The Wallberg Panorama Restaurant at the mountain station of the Wallbergbahn is the perfect stop for refreshments on arrival. As the name suggests, the panorama restaurant offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain landscape and Lake Tegernsee. The large sun terrace is the best spot to enjoy their diverse selection of dishes (also vegan!) and drinks.
Slightly further from the crowds and offering a particularly friendly service is the nearby Altes Wallberghaus. The hut can be reached in just 15 minutes from the mountain station of the Wallberg cable car via a well-developed and buggy-friendly path.
