The Café Aran
With its cosy, living room feeling, Aran is quite possibly the most popular café in Tegernsee. The bright, airy space makes for a relaxed atmosphere in an otherwise busy location. The café has a self-service concept so expect to queue up to order. Despite its popularity, you can usually get a table without a reservation.
Whether you can snag one of the coveted spot in the conservatory however, is another question entirely. From here you can enjoy the fresh mountain air with a picturesque view of the lake. The garden offers additional tables in summer with plenty of shade under the olive and lime trees.
The Menu at Aran
With its in-house bakery and patisserie, Aran is best know for its breakfast and brunch. Visitors can look forward to a selection of freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries as well as müslis and egg dishes. The roasted bread with a selection of homemade spreads is the perfect snack before embarking on a hike in the Tegernsee mountains.
The coffee is roasted by a family business in Unterhaching and sourced directly from coffee farmers and their families. Come in the evening and grab a Tegernseer Hell, a glass of wine or a Spritz to enjoy whilst watching the sunset over the mountains.

Queues can run up to 30 minutes on Sundays. Parking is not easy, there are however several options at either end of the Tegernsee waterfront promenade, which offers a great chance for a stroll after brunch.
