Wallberg Toll Road

Visitors travelling to Tegernsee by car can enjoy fantastic views of Lake Tegernsee and the Tegernsee Valley on a drive along the popular Wallberg Panorama Road. This insider tip at Tegernsee is one of the best places to enjoy views of the lake from above.

The 4-kilometer-long route, with gradients of up to 12%, takes visitors to not one but two beautiful viewpoints at 1,117 meters. Reaching the end of the Panorama Road, drivers can stop at the charming Wallbergmoos Alm hut/restaurant for lunch or a snack. Parking here is free of charge. This is also one of the starting points for the hike to the Risserkogel and Setzberg mountains.

Tip: The maximum speed allowed along the panorama road is 50 km/h. The usual rules of the road according to the Deutschen Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO) apply. The drive is only possible in summer, because in winter (providing there is enough snow) the road turns into a sledging run.

How much does the Wallberg Toll Road cost?

Per car a toll of 5 € applies. Bikes and motorbikes can travel along the panorama road for free.

Opening Hours

Open daily from 6:00 am – 9:00 pm.

For safety reasons, the road is closed in icy and snowy conditions. Visitors can expect the road to be closed throughout the entirety of the winter season.

Where does the toll road start?

Access to the road begins at the valley station of the Wallberg Cable Car. Drivers can pay directly at the toll both. 5km further east lies the Enterrottach Toll Road, which brings visitors to the Sutten Area including the Moni Alm as well as Manuel Neuers’ Forsthaus Valepp.
